Sunningwell Festival 2007

The Sunningwell Festival is a bi annual music and arts festival which takes place in a unique location, on a stage built at the centre of the village, on a pond! The 2007 festival was our biggest and best ever - we've left the details of all the performances posted here in a 'diary' fashion for reference purposes...and some photos.

You can also check out a review published in the Oxford Times featuring Opera Anywhere, performing their unique version of the "Last Night Of The Proms".

Plans are already afoot for a 2009 festival and we have already pencilled our three most popular acts; 'Silver', 'Show Of Hands' and 'Opera Anywhere'

Below is an extract from a letter sent to some of the organisers of the festival with their thoughts on their trip to Sunningwell 2007...

"We attended the Festival in July, while everywhere surrounding you was flooded!

We saw Show of Hands, who we have seen many times in many varied surroundings. This was a particulars wonderful setting and occasion (especially as it could so easily have never happened - you all worked so hard to put it together in such dire circumstances) It was a lovely evening - Morris dancers, a lovely setting, wonderful music and atmosphere and a very appreciative crowd - set against the backdrop of the pond and the Village Church.

Thanks to everyone for all the hard work. We look forward to hearing what is planned for next year.

As we forgot to take a camera with us (too busy finding wellies and waterproofs) have you got any photos we could look at please - such a shame to have no record of such a lovely night. So very `English'!

Many Thanks.

Carol & Joolz"
